The Culture Directorate is responsible for drafting, reviewing and co-ordinating the implimentation of a National Policy for Culture; promoting research and creating educational activities to increase the public awareness and participation in the different areas of culture; promoting and working towards the achievement of the concept of cultural justice for current and future generations; preserving, promoting and increasing knowledge about the intangible cultural heritage of the Maltese people; and, creating meaningful collaborations to increase the visibility and enrichment of Maltese culture abroad.
